Los Angeles-based artist bardz has been quietly reshaping the intersection of indie, electronic, and pop for years but his upcoming EP ‘the only way out is through’ marks a turning point in his journey. Releasing May 30 via MrSuicideSheep’s Seeking Blue label, the six-track project is his most vulnerable and personal work yet.

With a signature sound that blends introspective lyrics, layered guitar arrangements, and cinematic synths, bardz (real name Tyler Bardzilowski) isn’t afraid to bare his soul. Anchored by a custom open guitar tuning he discovered in high school, the only way out is through explores themes of disconnection, loss, and ultimately, healing.

“This EP is my most vulnerable and grounded work yet,” bardz says. “It’s a journey from chaos to clarity, a coming-of-age story that’s been a long time in the making. Every song is tied to a specific moment in my life.”

The EP’s standout single “hold me close” serves as an emotional letter to his father, layered with imagery inspired by Colorado’s mountainous landscapes. Already gaining traction with playlist placements on Apple Music’s “New in Alternative” and viral moments on Instagram Reels, the EP signals a new chapter for bardz.
But beyond the deeply personal music, Denver holds a special place in bardz’s heart. On May 31, he’s set to take the stage at Lost Lake Lounge, bringing his signature mix of live guitar, drum pads, and synths to a city he’s come to love.

“I love visiting Denver—there’s just something about the energy, the people, and the music,” bardz shares. “Every time I’m here, it feels like I’m reconnecting with a piece of myself.”

So what does a perfect Denver day look like for bardz? He gave us his top picks for soaking up the best the city has to offer:

Brews and Vibes in RiNo: “I always hit up breweries like Ratio and Our Mutual Friend—the Kölsch is my go-to. Great spots to relax and catch up with friends.”

Catch a Show at Larimer Lounge: “I’ve played here and seen some incredible acts. It’s a must-visit venue for any music fan coming to Denver.”

Red Rocks Memories: “My first time in Denver, I saw ODESZA at Red Rocks, and it blew my mind. It’s one of those bucket list venues that everyone needs to experience at least once.”

Breakfast at Denver Biscuit Co.: “This place is a lifesaver after a night out. The perfect spot to recover and fuel up for the day.”

Mountain Escape: “I’m from Southern California, so anytime I can get out into the mountains, I take it. The Bear Lake trail is a favorite.”

Bouldering at Movement: “I love bouldering, and Movement gym is a fantastic spot. I haven’t tried outdoor bouldering in Denver yet, but it’s on my list!”

With a new EP on the horizon, a highly anticipated Denver show, and a deep connection to the city, bardz is set to make his mark both musically and personally this weekend. Stream ‘the only way out is through‘ starting May 30 on all platforms.
