The Denver Museum of Nature and Science located a dinosaur bone believed to be 67.5 million years old under its parking lot last month while conducting a geothermal drilling project. If you can’t grasp how fucking cool and lucky that is, imagine if you found 10,000 Big Macs buried behind a McDonald’s, or a handful of teeth buried under your dentist’s office, or if you went to dig a hole in your backyard and found the skeletal remains of your father, who had gone out for milk and cigarettes twenty years ago.
Originally, the museum was being dug under to assess geothermal properties beneath the museum, but after 750 feet, scientists discovered the oldest dinosaur fossil to ever be discovered within Denver city limits. Unrelated, but we’re revisiting our plan from back when we were seven to dig to China, if any of you guys want to help out.
