Google’s top search results for 2020 are just as dismal and grim as the year itself

2020 has been a tough year by almost any measure. Between the global pandemic, the civil unrest, political turmoil, the death of live music and the loss of both Koby Bryant and Sean Connery, it’s been a wild ride and moostly just a major bummer.

That sad truth is reflected by Google’s top-search results for this foul year. Google recently published their “Year in Search Results” which, it turns out, provides a pretty accurate illustration of the spirit of the times.

Which makes sense. Google is like our village wise-man, who we run to with personal questions or concerns during troubling times. And Google’s been answering some pretty grim questions, returning some rather bleak searches. It’s like a track-list for the album of 2020.

So let’s break it down.

The top 10 overall searches:
