Monsters, beasts and all kinds of creative creatures will unite on August 10, 2023 from 4-9pm in Denver’s Cheesman Park Pavilion for the kick-off of Meow Wolf Denver’s epic clash of the costumes, Monster Battle.

The first Monster Battle took place in 2008 as Meow Wolf founders began their journey in Santa Fe, NM prior to the inception of the House of Eternal Return. Artists fabricated unique costumes representing various creative creatures that “battled” with humans to override their anarchy as they flooded the plaza. Monster Battle has remained a beloved annual tradition that is now woven into the fabric of the Meow Wolf Santa Fe culture and this year, the love is spreading to Denver.

Denverites will twist, shout and dance with their claws out to the tunes of DJ Blaque Gurl, Mental and Milk (with special cameo appearance by the infamous DJ Snaggy). All you need to do is show up and prepare to get down. No tickets, no RSVP’s, no lines – just you, the ghouls and your best dance moves. Kids, adults, and all ages in between will love this summer battle of the beasts, complete with games, prizes and a chance to take home the glory.

The battle rages on this year as Denver’s multi-verse of monsters take up the mantle and get down with their baddest selves. Embrace your true self by showcasing your cute or scary, silly or serious costumes. Dance with a stranger, challenge an onlooker to a duel or use your spell-casting ability to stand out from the crowd.

No matter what you do, make it monstrous.
