Long live the king… or not. A drinking competition in Spain took a turn for the worst after competitive drinker Joaquin Gracia slammed an impressive 17 beers in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, shortly after receiving the trophy, Gracia went into cardiac arrest and died soon after.
Onlookers to the Spanish event that challenges contestants to see how much beer they can drink in 20 minutes said that Gracia looked fine until her started vomiting on himself and then passing out. We're not doctors but excessive vomiting and then passing out are not optimistic symptoms.
In respect to the fallen drinker, the festival suspended all schedule events.
On the bright side, we've found a new way to deal with Spain's rising unemployment among youths, drinking competitions.
