Denver’s own Twopercent is stepping into the spotlight with his biggest headline show yet and a night that promises to be as immersive as it is personal. On November 15, he’ll take over Meow Wolf Denver, transforming the psychedelic playground into a full-scale sensory journey soundtracked by his signature blend of heavy bass, emotional depth, and unfiltered creativity.

The local producer and DJ has become a key figure in Denver’s underground bass scene, known for balancing high-impact drops with melodic vulnerability and curating sets that are as introspective as they are explosive. His motto, “feelings over formulas,” sums it up perfectly with raw emotion first, technical perfection second.

The Meow Wolf show marks a defining chapter in his career, bringing together a handpicked lineup of local and national talent, including Gallium, Orbiix, Starsearch, and SKY. Each artist represents a different facet of the city’s thriving electronic community, and Twopercent’s vision for the night is all about connection between sounds, people, and the energy that binds them.

With past appearances at Lost Lands, releases on Subsidia and Subcarbon music labels, and an ever-growing fanbase drawn to his honest approach to music, Twopercent’s rise feels both inevitable and deeply rooted in the culture that raised him. As he prepares to step onto the Meow Wolf stage, he’s bringing everything full circle; from the late-night studio sessions to the underground parties that shaped his sound.

We had a chance to catch up with Twopercent ahead of his milestone performance to talk about creative freedom, hometown pride, and the emotional pulse that drives his music. Check out our conversation below!

[Rooster]: This Meow Wolf show marks your biggest headline and it’s happening right here in Denver. What does that mean to you personally and creatively?

[Twopercent]: I grew up in Denver, so this show is a major accomplishment for me. Since I started my project, I had always wanted to throw a curated music experience that involved my friends and catered to the creative direction I had always wanted to express. This show is exactly what I have been wanting to create, and it is honestly mind blowing that it is finally happening!

Meow Wolf’s energy is unlike any other venue. How are you planning to make that world your own for one night?

Meow Wolf is definitely one of my favorite places in Denver, so I cannot wait to take full advantage of the amazing production. I like to dip into the experimental side of music during my sets, and this is going to be a very Meow Wolf-inspired set. Similar to the exhibit, you should expect a journey through various genres, moods, and energy that showcase everything that I have been working on and all the most fresh electronic tracks that I have been enjoying the most.

You’ve been part of Denver’s underground bass scene for years. How has this city shaped who you are as an artist?

Denver is such an amazing hub for bass music and electronic music in general. My family was always exposing me to various live music events throughout the city, and when I finally went to my first Red Rocks show in 2016, I was addicted. I think that having so much musical diversity in this city and getting exposed to so many sub-genres has really helped shape my project and has shown me the types of music that speak to me the most. I think that the music scene in this city is like no other, and I have felt extremely lucky to have grown up here.

Your motto is “feelings over formulas.” Can you break down what that means in your process when you sit down to create?

I think that it’s really easy as an artist to get caught up following a trend or pushing quantity over quality. My approach to music is more of a “if it feels right, do it” style, which has allowed me to more fully express my emotions through whatever music I’m making. Sometimes, instead of following a formula or a trend, you should just create whatever makes you feel something.

You’ve played massive stages like Lost Lands. So how does playing a hometown headline compare to those big festival moments?

Festivals are so much fun and I cannot wait to experience more of those big stages, but for me, this Denver show is going to feel so much more intimate and special. I know that the people who will be there are real supporters and believers in my music and because I’m from Denver, I have a feeling the energy is going to be different. Because it’s my headline show, I feel more free to explore my discography and play the type of set that I want, instead of catering to a large festival crowd.

You curated a really cool lineup with Gallium, Orbiix, Starsearch, and SKY. What was your vision for how the night should flow?

All of these artists are good friends of mine, and I felt that each of their projects would fit so well on the bill. SKY has been making a name for herself around the local scene, and when I went to see her play at Black Box, I knew she would start the night off proper. Starsearch has been a long-time friend of mine, and he has been absolutely killing it with his original releases and content this past year. I’ve always felt that his music and talent needs to be seen more, so I am extremely hyped to have him on this one. I first started seeing Orbiix online through social media and always thought his sound was super unique and wonky. His whole project has been so much fun to watch grow and his brand is so perfect for Meow Wolf and the overall vibe of the night.

Your music balances heavy bass energy with emotional depth. How do you find that middle ground between power and vulnerability?

I think that balance is super important when it comes to the longevity of a project. I also think that being able to have a multitude of emotions that you can convey during a set makes for a more memorable audience experience, and that your art can reach more people in general. I personally love being able to have heavy sections of a set and then wind down into an emotional and melodic section right after. I fell in love with those styles of sets when I was attending shows as a fan, and I want to continue creating that feeling for others.

You’ve had releases on labels like Subsidia and Subcarbon, but this feels like a self-defined moment. How does it feel to step into full creative control?

Those releases were big accomplishments for me and my collaborators! Seeing my name next to so many artists that I’ve looked up to for years is surreal and gives me so much motivation to continue working on my craft. I still have a long way to go when it comes to “full creative control,” but I like to think that I am well on my way. As I continue to release original music, push my sound, and practice every day, I can feel that goal getting closer, and I am super excited to see how my sound evolves as I grow as an artist.

When fans walk out of Meow Wolf that night, what’s the feeling or message you hope they carry with them?

I want everyone to leave feeling accepted, musically satisfied, and excited for the future of Twopercent! I want to show that sets can have energy and emotion, and that anyone can have a good time at a show of mine. I want all my shows to be an inclusive, loving, and fun environment where people feel comfortable being themselves and can escape reality for a brief moment.
