What would you say most influences your artwork? Music, color, and dynamic images.
Female subject appear throughout your work, is there a particular reason for this? I love the curves and movement of the female form. For me it is one of the most dynamic and sensual figures to recreate.
What about the use of tigers? Large cats are also a majestic creature to me. I feel they possess a similar sleek movement and dynamic postures.
At what age did you start noticing you had a knack for drawing and painting? When I was little, my dad called me a human copy machine because I could reproduce any image I saw, at any size, without tracing.
What do you want to achieve through your artwork? Is there a message? I want to inspire others and project a positive and dynamic feeling towards them through my art.
Can you describe your creative process? I am a symmetrical person and most of my pieces start with the shape I want to create through the space. I then fill in images to fit these shapes that fit the page.
When are you at your best when it comes to working on a piece? Inspirations come sporadically during the days. But when I get one that I’m excited about. I can stay up till the wee hours of the morning working on a piece.
Do you have any habits or rituals when beginning a new project? I love to have creative sessions with friends. Whether they are musically or visually talented. Bringing creative minds together for a fun time is always inspiring.
What’s one critique about your artwork that you hear the most? Mostly that I need to do more with it. I have been exploring various avenues of displaying and using my art in Denver recently.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists? Make connections, put yourself out there. Once it begins to snowball, be prepared for it.
Do you have any upcoming shows? I will be showcasing my art with Creative Revolution Theatre Company during their run of Talk Radio from October 4-12th. Come check it out!
