Black floral, liberty, and monkeys on weed: Meet the Akomplice Fall 2013 Lookbook
The highly anticipated fall collection from Akomplice delivers on the irreverent creativity that has become a brand staple. The collection has two unique branches; a floral line, and the Libertas Series, which looks at various violations of liberty through the blithe eye of Akomplice.
Brand loyalists will recall the floral pattern from the X-Large Monkey Wrench collection which has been given a tonal black and charcoal refresh for the fall season.
The thematic approach continues with the politically charged Libertas Series which uses t-shirts to depict differing definitions of the struggle for freedom throughout the world. Libertas means liberty in latin; the collection illustrates conditions in which liberty has been soiled; blood diamonds being mined in front of a 20-carat billboard, a nudist being arrested in the in front of a classical nude painting, and a young girl brandishing a rifle as if it was solely up to her to defend her country. H-E-A-V-Y.
Also included within the collection are updated iterations of the patchwork pocket tee and tank, as well as a two-tone belt and a vintage-inspired baseball jersey. And there's a t-shirt with a bunch of monkeys smoking on it.
The entire drop will be available online on the Akomplice webshop (http://www.akomplice-clothing.com/store.html) this Saturday at 12:31pm EST.
