Check out this politically-charged protest jacket from GRiZ and Akomplice
The jacket's theme sends a strong message of positivity straight from the mind of GRiZ himself: "After the election we need to stand more unified than ever" he says. Envisioning the jacket as more of a statement than a mere product, the piece is meant to protest the current political situation by emblazoning the word "LOVE" across the back and "Unity Gang" across the left bicep. It's a nice fit with GRiZ's motto: "Show Love, Spread Love," which shines through the jacket's lesser-seen details such as an inner felt "close to the heart” pocket and a “passionately made” woven label. Currently on top of the world after the release of his latest album "Good Will Prevail" GRiZ's sartorial transmission of unity rings loud and clear.
To drive home the feeling GRiZ and Akomplice wanted to create around The Love Jacket, the piece's lookbook sherpas viewers through a tour of the catacombs of the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, where every important and influential artist to travel through has left their mark.
The jacket is available now on the Akomplice Webstore. In addition to the jacket, word on the street is that the two have another project in works that may debut in the coming months. Stay tuned for that, but in the meantime, check out The Love Jacket lookbook below.
