Frontier ranks last in customer service, first in being a cheap bastard

Frontier, we have a love hate relationship with you. Sure you can fly us anywhere at an abnormally lower price than any other airlines but our heart strings are pulled when you charge us for every... little... thing. Since when did airlines stop offering free drinks on the flight? And carry-ons, no? Business is business, we understand. But come on, Frontier, we like our spritzer during mid flight while we watch the same TV station because we can't afford the $5 in-flight television charge ($9 if flying more than 5 hours).

Turns out, we're not the only ones who have this love, but mostly hate, relationship for Frontier Airlines. According to the Department of Transportation, a passenger on Frontier was 34 times more likely to complain about the airline than any other company in the industry between March of last year and March of this year. We're pragmatic; in today's world, it's not uncommon for everyone and their mother to complain about something and the DOT has acknowledged that only 1 in 50,000 passengers actually calls the department to complain — making Frontier's plight all the worse.

In response to media and government questioning, a spokesman for Frontier didn't shy away and said:

customers who called the reservations center in March were sometimes put on hold for up to 45 minutes as the airline switched to a new reservations system.

Faulkner said that Frontier added staffing, and hold times have been reduced to under three minutes. He said complaints were down so far in May.

Well, you can't put lipstick on a pig. We are only 12 days into May so saying complaints are down is kind of like saying Adam Sandler's next movie will be hilarious. We just can't conclude the premise because of a spotty track record.

But which airlines weren't the red headed step children with aesthma? Southwest ranked among the highest in customer satisfaction and Hawaii Air came in with flying colors as the carrier received almost no complaints. Then again, when you're flying people to Hawaii for an exotic vacation you really only need to get them drunk and make sure they make it their in a safe and timely manner. Do you hear what we're saying Malaysia Air?

Will this stop us from flying with them to Vegas and Mexico? Probably not. But we'll tell you one thing, we're bringing pocket shots on every flight.
