Girl bleeding profusely, parents assume it's her period...nope. Not even close.
Classic mistake: A Northern California couple hesitated on reporting that their daughter had been shot in the butt during a drive-by shooting, mistaking the bloody mess, excruciating pain, and downright sassy mood for the girl's first period.
The 10 year-old girl was sleeping, when she woke up at 2 a.m. to blood-stained sheets and pain in her pubic region, reports the Huffington Post. Her parents tried to explain to her that she was menstruating and that Mother Nature had just bestowed a wonderful gift upon her, but the girl wasn't so sure. After about five hours of trying to to subdue her fake period with ice cream and crying like all girls do, she had her parents inspect her further. What they found was no gift from Mother Nature, it was a tiny bullet wound on her butt. Shocked, they looked around for evidence of a shooting or break-in, but found none. Turns out the gift Mother Nature gave her wasn't newfound fertility, but whatever "gift" the girl got that night hurt about the same, so Mother Nature's off the hook this time.
Great, so the next time one of us has our period, we can just say we were shot. Then we'll sit back, relax, and bask in the street cred.
