These psychedelic vintage portrait GIFs are like doing acid without the imagined alien abuduction
St. Francis Elevator Ride (aka Josh Breeden) is a designer and art director by day, but by nights, he creates incredibly psychedelic GIFs from retro portraits. Looking at them is trippy, to say the least, but it's also a hell of a lot cheaper than buying acid from your friend L-Dawg. He has bleached cornrows, and that's not reassuring.
These GIFs are from Josh's solo show, Fabric of Paradise, in which he explored the combination of digital and analog art as a metaphor for the unreality of being human. They not-so-subtly communicate the degree to which people live in their own heads while struggling to communicate with the world around them ... but aside from that' they're mighty pretty to look at. So look!
