Thug Notes: this, ladies and gents, is how you're going to pass your Literature class

VicesSeptember 04, 2013

Reading? Ha! Who even does that these days? Books? Don't make us laugh! You don't need to read to pass your Literature class anymore. You just need to watch these videos from Thug Notes, starring Sparky Sweets, PhD. It's classical literature, explained in such a way that you don't have to spend your entire waking life reading just to get a B- on your midterm. And even if you're 38 and reading this like, "I haven't been to school in years! Reading is a hobby of mine!" then, well, you're still enrolled in the School of Life, and just think how many more classic pieces of literature you can cram into your brain when you do it this way.

Let's take a ride on the learning train, shall we?

First stop...The Hobbit. Now that's a book that could use some explaining. Sparky Sweets? Take it away.

Fantastic. Now, let's move on to something a little less Middle-Earth-y: Lord of the Flies.

Thrilling! We're pretty sure you had read To Kill a Mockingbird, but doesn't it make so much more sense this way? Of course it does.

Great job, class. We pretty much just went over your entire 8th grade summer reading list, and you didn't have to miss out on any vital life experiences doing it. If you love literature, but hate reading, check out the Thug Notes YouTube Channel... it's like a library of literary hilariousness.
