Why We Love America: Student Gets C+, Sues Lehigh University for $1.3 Million
The Morning Call reports that Lehigh University student Megan Thode and her lawyer Richard J. Orloski sued the university for $1.3 million claiming that a C+ she recieved would prevent her from graduating and thus lose out on $1.3 million in future career earnings as a state-certified counselor. In rebuttal, the school said Thode exhibited unprofessional behavior that included swearing in class and, on one occasion, having an outburst in which she began crying. Thankfully, after four days of testimony, Judge Emil Giordano ruled against Thode. The end result? Lehigh University had to pay tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Teachers have become increasingly scared to give students the grade they deserve. Megan Thode continues to waste precious oxygen. And attorney Richard Orloski makes sure that no lawyer joke ever goes to far.
