Kanye, meet rock and bottom. They’re going to be around for awhile.
Kanye West hit yet another wall in his self-righteous crusade across social media and the Internet the last couple weeks by turning his mental breakdown on the torrent site The Pirate Bay. Learning that his dear album "The Story of Pablo" was downloaded over 500,000 times on the torrent site, Kanye responded by saying that someone will be held accountable for these actions.
“Kanye is going to meet with his legal team to discuss the possibilities of starting legal action against torrent site Pirate Bay,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com.
“He’s going to talk to his lawyers and see where he stands, and hopefully Tidal will partner up with him in any legal proceedings because it was supposed to be an exclusive release.”
Yeah right, if anyone knows how to deal with business negotiations, it’s Tidal. The company has only butchered all of its product releases and destroyed the album launches of all the famed investors. But sure, they’ll help you fight this battle against the internet.
You’d assume The Pirate Bay would consider this a viable legal threat but the site and staff responded in the most professional and effective way possible
“Kanye West is a blithering twat who has an incredible sense of self-importance. Even diehard fans are saying his new album sucks balls, but as for Mr. West suing TPB, good luck Kanye!” TPB staff member Spud17 informs TorrentFreak.
“Our legal department will be waiting,” he adds.
As you can tell, this isn’t Pirate Bay’s firs rodeo. If Kanye chooses to carry on with the lawsuit, he’ll join the ranks of Michael Jackson, UB40, Prince and the Village People who also sued the torrent site. The site has a clear policy not to remove copyright-infringement policy. The only files the site will remove are those infected with spam or viruses.
The co-founder of Pirate Bay, Peter Sunde, who is no longer involved with the site said that Kanye should just be happy that people are even trying to listen to his music. That’s a novel concept: making music for the people and not the money.
“The album was only released on Tidal, so I’m impressed it got leaked anyhow since fewer people pass by there than at Fort Knox. He should be happy someone cares enough to listen to it, so that they signed up for an account to stream the low quality music you get at Tidal,” Sunde says.
Sorry Kanye, it looks like the juice might be a hard fucking squeeze. The Pirate Bay doesn’t care. Tidal is too incompetent to care. And the Internet has stopped caring about your rants. All in all, you’ve hit rock bottom.
