What started as a stormy Colorado night quickly turned into one of the most unforgettable concert experiences of the year as Coldplay brought their Music of the Spheres World Tour to Denver’s Empower Field. With two weather delays due to severe thunderstorms, the show faced real challenges, but if anything, the wild skies only made the night feel even more magical.

Coldplay’s commitment to sustainability was front and center throughout the event. As part of their mission to reduce the environmental impact of touring, they’ve implemented innovative solutions like kinetic dance floors and stationary bikes that allow fans to help generate power for the concert. Add in reusable LED wristbands, solar-powered production, and biodegradable confetti, and it’s clear that Coldplay isn’t just performing. They’re trying to change the way live music happens.

The evening opened with a high-energy set from Elyanna, the Palestinian-Chilean pop singer whose music blends Arabic melodies with Latin rhythms. Her set was filled with hypnotic choreography and global flair, getting the crowd moving early. Following her, Willow took the stage in a stunning gown and delivered fan favorites like “Wait a Minute!” and “Meet Me at Our Spot.” Her presence and power had the stadium buzzing in anticipation.

Then came the storm.

Just after Willow’s set and minutes before Coldplay was set to go on, dark clouds rolled in and lightning forced the venue to issue two separate weather delays. For a moment, it looked like the night might end before it even began. But Coldplay had other plans.

When they finally took the stage, they made it count. The show exploded to life with “Higher Power” and a burst of fireworks that lit up the night. As if on cue, the skies opened up again during “Paradise.” But instead of slowing things down, the rain added an epic, cinematic feel. Each beat drop was punctuated by rain cascading through the lights, turning the downpour into its own kind of sky full of stars.

One of the most memorable moments came when Chris Martin invited a young fan named Asher and his mom onstage. Asher held a sign that said it was his first concert ever, and Chris brought him up to sing “Magic” a moment full of joy, connection, and the kind of spontaneous beauty that makes Coldplay shows unforgettable.

From there, the band moved seamlessly through their expansive catalog. Fans were treated to a mix of old and new, from deep cuts like “God Put a Smile Upon Your Face” to newer anthems like “My Universe” and “We Pray,” the latter of which saw Elyanna and Willow return to the stage for a celebratory collaboration.

Visually, the show was nothing short of breathtaking. The entire audience wore LED wristbands that pulsed in sync with the music, creating waves of color across the stadium. Special “moon goggles” transformed every light into glowing hearts, turning Empower Field into a galaxy of love and sound.

Near the end of the night, Coldplay moved to their acoustic C-Stage for a quieter, more emotional mini-set, including a heart-wrenching version of “Sparks” and a stirring performance of “In My Place.” Finally, they closed with their latest hit, “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” as fireworks and confetti rained down one last time. The show ended with a powerful message on the screens: ALWAYS BELIEVE IN LOVE.

And if you were lucky enough to be there, it was impossible not to.
