The recent release of a video showing a Denver cop pushing an unarmed, non-violent man down a flight of stairs has awoken our need to express ourselves … with potatoes.

The ever-expanding tidal wave of police brutality in Denver is nothing new. Murderous police are an unfortunately large and in-charge part of everyday life here in the Mile High City.

However, with the recent release of a video showing a Denver cop pushing an unarmed, non-violent man down a flight of stairs, our need to express ourselves in regards to this injustice has been put to the test.

And since self-expression via lengthy op-eds and "We Can't Breathe" rallies seems to do nothing to curb the insidious problem of sociopaths parading as police, we figured we'd just show how we feel in the only medium that's relevant on the Internet today … potatoes.

See, this "Potatoes That Look Like Channing Tatum" post on Buzzfeed has already gotten more than 1.3 million views. There's an entire quiz called "What's your inner potato" on there, too. It has hundreds of thousands of Facebook likes. There's even this:

It's clear that potatoes are what's on people's minds these days. Therefore, it's root vegetables, not open conversation and policy changes, that are what we need to pave the way towards social justice and a less bloodthirsty police force.

And this is how we feel about that:

That last one is a little more abstract. Basically, this potato, back lit by the blistering set lighting, is telling us: "I'm outta here."

It's like it truly understands.

So, until our informed conversations and desperate pleas for level-headed cops start to grab the attention of policy makers and police trainers, we're just going to keep demonstrating our deep-seated fear of the DPD like this:
