It was a dumb move, but eye poking isn't all that uncommon in sports …

If you're a sports fan in Colorado, you no doubt witnessed (or have at least have heard about) the unfortunate string of incidents that knocked our Denver Broncos out of the undefeated elite of the NFL. Miscues, blown calls, interceptions, a reprehensible opening few quarters — this all led to us once again getting our asses handed to us on a unwelcome platter from the Indianapolis Colts. One event, however, has the Internet in a spin-cycle right now — Aqib Talib's gentle eye brush on Dwayne Allen. A simple gesture to maybe get the dust off of his eyelid, perhaps? It couldn't possibly be malicious, what with the game winding down and tempers flaring on both sides … couldn't be …

Talib even tells USA Today's Tom Pelissero that he doesn't even remember the incident. So it couldn't have been that bad, right? He claims that it was probably an accident, or whatever. He didn't have a good enough angle on it to tell.

But, shit, let's be honest. It was a dumb move and will cost him, everyone, more than just a quick embarrassment on the e-town hall via Twitter memes. The NFL will likely "gouge" (see what we did there?) his paycheck, and this all but gives Broncos haters something else to cackle about in their respective hen houses.

So to alleviate the onslaught towards Talib, here's a few more eye pokings from around the sports world, so everyone can stop talking about his:

Remember when Real Madrid's manager Jose Mourinho slammed his finger in the eye of assistant coach Tito Vilanova back in 2011? No? We do …

Or how about that Iowa Hawkeye's center Adam Woodbury, who makes it a habit to "bury" (see what we did there) his fingers in the sockets of competing teams.

Or there's this poor kid, just doing his job rooting on his favorite team …

And then of course there's the eye-poking champion of the world, Mr. Jon "Bones" Jones
