As the founder of Roane Clothing, Denver native Mike Graves has been arting his way into our hearts since the beginning of time with his distinct cartoon-style painting illustrations, screen-prints and custom-designed toys. So, naturally, we had to interview him about it. Read on to get acquainted with the man himself.

Burrito or sushi: Sushi all day!

What got you into art? I’ve been drawing since I was really little. It’s something that has always been a part of my life.

How did you develop this unique style? A whole lot of drawing.

What do people usually say about your work? That it usually makes them smile.

How would you describe your art? I try not to do that.

How long does a typical piece take? It takes anywhere from couple of hours to sometimes 40 hours.

What’s your favorite part about being an artist? Painting what makes me happy.

Advice for other artists? Always paint for yourself and be ready to hustle.
