There’s a reason why Denver is often referred to as the Bass Capital of the world. There’s a rich heritage of bass and electronic music that has lived within the city for well over a decade. Denver has become a beacon for aspiring producers and one powerful woman leading the charge goes by the name of VEIL.

VEIL, whose real name is Becca Drylie-Perkins, is a transplant who began making music long before she took on her VEIL moniker. Formerly known as spacegishA, she spent the 2010s DJing around the world, absorbing a variety of global influences and providing her with a foundation to build upon.

Once the pandemic hit in 2020, she decided it was time to evolve, and thus, the VEIL project was born. Her sound is refined but chaotic, weaving together elements of dubstep, drum & bass, halftime, leftfield, and freeform bass. It doesn’t take too long to hear the various musical influences in her own music and it’s that sort of free flowing, risk-taking that has separated her productions from the rest of the pack.

Over the past few years, VEIL has made her mark in Colorado, headlining venues like Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom and opening for Subtronics’ CYCLOPS ROCKS III. She’s released music on some of bass music’s most innovative labels, including WAKAAN, Cyclops Recordings, MorFlo Records, Odyzey Music, and Headbang Society.

When she’s not making or performing music, she’s spearheading the creative direction of Street Ritual, her own label dedicated to showcasing underground artists across the globe. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more dedicated and influential producer than VEIL and it still feels like she’s only just scratched the surface.

She quietly released her latest single, “HOLLOW,” via Headbang Society which comes shortly after her official DJ Mix for HypnoVizion, exclusively available on Apple Music. She recently announced her return to Shambhala and is preparing to join Boogie T on his 140 Warriors Tour. Check out her tour dates below!
