Each month, we set two daters up at a restaurant, give them free food and drinks, then wait for the magic to happen. This month's Blind Date, we set Nina and Isaac up for something a little different: a special night at Meow Wolf in Denver.

Meet The Daters:

Isaac
Budtender

What do you do for fun? Go to the gym, listen to music. Go on hood rat adventures with my friends.
What are you best at? Making people laugh.
What do you suck at? Being on time.
Do you sing in the shower? No. There are only three things I do in the shower: wash, have deep thoughts, and exfoliate.
Do you want kids? Yes. I want a boy and a girl.
Immediate red flags: If she drinks a lot.
One thing you can’t live without: Besides the basics, my two kittens: Toke and Miss Cleo.
Why did your last relationship end? I’ll plead the fifth.
Celebrity crush: Iggy Azalea.
Guilty pleasure: Singing in my car. Shout out Fleetwood Mac!

Nina
Digital marketing/coach

What do you do for fun? Camping, anything outside, cross fit.
What are you best at? Being the mom and dad simultaneously of the friend group.
What do you suck at? Sooo much. Keeping my room clean. I’m not a clean girl. Being on time (except for today).
Do you sing in the shower? Yes. It depends on the mood — I’m a big mood music gal.
Do you want kids? Yes. Three kids.
Immediate red flags: Smoking cigarettes, if they are republican or voted for Trump.
One thing you can’t live without: Coffee and my dog.
Why did your last relationship end? I moved to Denver.
Celebrity crush: Zac Efron. Always.
Guilty pleasure:  Crumbl Cookies.

ROUND 1

Meow Wolf Adulti-Verse for a first date is about as unique as you can get. Our daters aren't ready for what's in store tonight. Nina arrives first and is 5 minutes early. Isaac arrives next and is 20 minutes late. Rough start. It doesn't get much better. The daters grab drinks and open up about first impressions.

How’s it going so far?
I: It's fun. She’s fun. I learned she’s a TikTok star: 15k followers.
N: Good. He’s really chill. I would say he’s more my roommate's type than mine. If she wasn’t dating someone I would set them up.

What were your first impressions of the dater?
I: She’s pissed because I’m late. I’m going to have to do some making up.  I’m going to let her do her thing and lead and I’m going to come in with some laughter and jokes, but right now… I’m definitely behind the 8 ball.
N: Really chill. He's a cat person, we’ve talked about it…  Really sweet individual.

Is this the type of person you’d normally date?
I: It’s too early to tell.
N: I love how chill and calm he is, but I usually go for someone who goes toward my neurotic side and is a little more high energy.

Anything right away that might be a deal breaker?
I: She’s a Michigan fan, and I’m an Ohio State fan. I’m a big cat person and she’s a big dog person. So I don’t know where that’s going to go.
N: I don’t find myself attracted to him in a romantic way. I’m the kind of person who usually knows after a conversation and I know this is going to be a friendship, for me at least.

What’s the strangest dating story you have?
I: I met up with this chick from online dating. The entire way to dinner all she talked about was her ex and how he was this big drug dealer who was abusive and poured bleach all over her clothes and all this other horrible stuff. Low key, I thought she was trying to put me in danger.
N: There are too many to pick.

Where do you normally meet potential partners?
I: If I think you’re attractive I will come up and talk to you. Anywhere but the gym! The gym is creepy.
N: The apps. Bars. Any social outing and event that I go to. I would welcome the idea of meeting someone at a gym. That would be great!

What are you most nervous about for tonight?
I: Being on time. Having a good impression.
N: Not knowing a single thing about what was happening tonight wrecked me.

Did you get any advice for this date?
I: My Pops gave me the best advice. Be unapologetically yourself.
N:  Talk to the person before the first interview and agree not to be assholes to each other.

How did you prepare for the date?
I: I had to get off work early, so I went home, showered, played with my kittens, smoked and came here.
N: Got home, immediately changed, drank some wine and took a shot of tequila. My roommate drove me here.

How did your date dress tonight?
I: Casual. I think she dressed fine for Meow Wolf.
N: More casual than I expected.

ROUND 2

She's a dog person, he's a cat person. He's Michigan, she's Ohio. All information we would have liked to know before setting these two up on a date. Luckily, Meow Wolf never disappoints. As they travel through the portal, we pull them aside to see how things are going.

How’s it going?
I: It’s alright. She’s definitely moving around quicker than me.
N: Good. He takes it really slow and I move very fast, so it’s been interesting.

What have you been exploring in Meow Wolf?
I: I’m trying to explore everything and enjoy the scenery.
N: We’re trying to go all over the place. As much as we can possibly see.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve discovered at Meow Wolf?
I: To be honest, we haven’t seen too much because she’s so quick and doesn’t want to enjoy the scenery.
N: There was a weird pizza room that was like a demon pizza.

Do you two have anything in common?
I: Yeah. Fitness, sports. We’ve talked about so much it’s hard to keep track.
N: We both lift. We both have pets – different kinds of pets. And we both have family in Ohio. That's about it.

What do you like about your date?
I: I like her take charge attitude.
N: He’s very chill and very relaxed. He moves at his own pace.

What do you not like about your date?
I: Her take charge attitude.
N: It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s just that he’s not my type. And he moves at his own pace, a little bit slower. But that comes from somebody that moves very fast and has the attention span of a goldfish.

What’s the most attractive thing about your date?
I: Her eyes. Hands down. They’re blue. I hope that’s right… Meow Wolf lighting could throw you off…
N: He vibes in his own world and he’s very content with how he operates.

How would your parents feel about the dater?
I: They’d be fine. Nothing too much to say.
N: They would like him, but they would be very surprised.

What’s been the best part of the date so far?
I: Honestly, watching when she slows down and gets to enjoy stuff which makes it more enjoyable for me.
N: Getting to meet someone new and have a new experience with a stranger.

What could make the date better?
I: I think the time constraint could be a factor. Not having to meet every 45 minutes because she’s so focused on her clock.
N: If I was more attracted to him in a relationship lens than a friendship lens. It would make it feel like more of a date than just a fun experience kind of thing.

How’s the chemistry on a scale of 1-10?
I: Probably a 6.7-7.3.
N: Like a 3.

Will there be a good night hug, kiss or an exchange of numbers?
I: Hug yes, everything after that… TBD. Maybe numbers… kiss, I doubt it.
N: Hug for sure. I’m from Ohio. We’re huggers.

ROUND 3

As the daters scurry around Meow Wolf —much to the dislike of Isaac, they realize they live life at different speeds: her fast, him slow. The couple can't seem to find any common ground. We leave knowing tomorrow is another new beginning. Checking in the next morning, we ask how things went.

How was Meow Wolf?
I: Meow Wolf is dope! I always recommend people go there.
N: It was a blast. Really, really cool experience.

What happened after Rooster left?
I: The date ended. We both went home.
N: I looked at my watch, realized it was my bed time and we left. We hugged.

What was the best part of the date and why?
I: When we were sitting up in the chair area and she was controlling the planet. It was a dope ass moment.
N: Being able to meet somebody new in a really cool new experience and get out of my comfort zone.

Was there a goodnight kiss?
I: Nope. Good night hug. I got her TikTok of the date that she posted.
N: Nope.

Will there be a second date?
I: No.
N: Nope. We did not exchange numbers.

Any advice for future Blind Daters?
I: Meow Wolf would be better for a second or third date type of thing. Other than that, be unapologetically yourself and enjoy the ride.
N: Go into it with no expectations and have fun.

Anything you want to end with?
I: Shout out to Rooster for giving me a chance to do this. Since it didn’t work, any ladies can find me on social media.
N: It was a blast and I hope more people sign up for this opportunity if they are single. It’s really fun.

CONCLUSION

The daters didn't exchange numbers but at least Isaac got her TikTok handle where she documented the entire blind date—that's a first! Meow Wolf was the shining light and made for an unbelievable date atmosphere. Thanks to the staff and daters. Until next time, when we're back on the hunt for love!
