Decadence is a love it or hate it kind of party, and attitudes change year by year. Starting in 2011 as a team up NYE event between Colorado staples Global and Sub.Mission with primarily dubstep and electro, the event maintained relevance for booking a good variety of acts over the years. It had the cross over appeal of wook favorites and candy raver staples.

As these types of events tend to do, it has evolved into something completely different. Of course, times change and tastes differ with the trends and rapid growth and monopolies in the EDM scene. That’s not always for the best, but at least they are consistent in what fans have come to expect. There aren’t any surprises this year, but the lineup for “America’s Largest NYE Dance Celebration” Decadence 2021 has been released, and fans of mainstream EDM will be geeked. Two days at the Colorado Convention Center on December 30-31 with the likes of DJ Snake, Alan Walker, Alesso, Zedd, Zed’s Dead, Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, well if you made it this far and still care, you probably want to go. But there are a plethora of parties on NYE, so if this isn’t your speed, there will surely be other (smaller) options. It’s always amateur hour on big party holidays, as people who don’t normally attend decide to blow it all on one big fist pumping night. But sometimes the mood strikes to go big or go home and join the massive, hipster clout be damned! Or maybe your favorite artist is mixed up in the milieu and it’s worth it just to jam out to their NYE set.

Global, AEG, and Live Nation have teamed up once again to bring the NYE ball drop to ravers and EDM enthusiasts in a typical fashion. The lineup is lacking any notable up and coming or underground favorite artists, but it doesn’t fail to stack headliners back to back for a crowd pleasing affair. The vast majority of the bill has played Decadence in previous years, and the multi-stage production value will no doubt be top notch. Tickets go on sale October 15th, and will most likely sell out quickly. So, if you want to be in attendance for the biggest crowds on NYE or just want to profit on the resale value, jump on the Decadence website at midnight. Short of a festival, this is the biggest gathering of mainstream artists, and lives up to the reputation they have carved out for themselves. So love it or hate it, Decadence is back with more of the same!
