Winter is coming, but who cares just as long as you have time to toss back a few of these delicious alcoholic concoctions? Warm your exterior and your soul with a bacon, bourbon, and hazelnut hot chocolate, and then kick it up a notch with a cappuccinotini shot. It's fun for the entire (legal) family!

The Drink: Bacon, Bourbon and Hazelnut Hot Chocolate

  • 4 thick-cut slices of bacon
  • 1/2 teaspoon corn starch
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • pinch kosher salt
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 4 ounces chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces Frangelico
  • 4 ounces bourbon
  • Whipped cream
  • Chopped toasted hazelnuts

Cook the bacon in a pan by itself. Render the bacon grease and stir into another pan with the corn starch. In a double boiler, stir the cocoa, sugar and salt. Add in the bacon/corn starch mixture along with milk, chocolate chips and bittersweet chocolate chips. Cook until mixture is completely melted and homogenous. Pour into individual mugs and mix in the Frangelico and bourbon. Top with toasted hazelnuts and a strip of bacon, and serve.

The Shot: Cappuccinotini

  • 1 oz. espresso vodka
  • 1 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz. chocolate liqueur

Just mix all that shit together. Bonus points if you can foam some milk and dollop it over top with a sprink of cinnamon. You can foam milk at home without the use of a fancy pants steamer just by placing some cold milk in a jar, shaking it vigorously for 30 seconds, then microwaving it for another 30 seconds. The foam will rise to the top of the milk, so just spoon it right on top of the shot, then congratulate yourself on being awesome.
