When life give you lemons and you're about to cut the shit out of those lemons, step back and toss down a few cups of coffee. According to a new study, those who drank coffee on a daily basis were less likely to commit suicide than those who chose no coffee or decaf.

The study, conducted by Harvard researchers, compared coffee drinkers and suicide rates across the U.S. and concluded that two to four cups of coffee a day halved the rate of suicide. We're guessing that's because once you drink a cup of coffee you can finally deal with the stupid people of the world. And in order to keep dealing with those people, you need more cups of coffee.

Lead researcher Michel Lucas, a research fellow at Harvard’s Department of Nutrition, stated,

“Unlike previous investigations, we were able to assess association of consumption of caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages, and we identify caffeine as the most likely candidate of any putative protective effect of coffee. Caffeine from coffee is about 80 percent caffeine intake. In one cup of coffee, you could have about 140 mg of caffeine. In tea, for example, you have about 47 mg.”

That also sounds nice and dandy, but the truth of the fact is that once the coffee wears off, things go downhill very quickly. So drink up and drink often.
