Check out this fresh and lovely LP from Mac DeMarco's new album, Salad Days. Recalling keyboard freak Harry Nilsson in a bathrobe, the song's got a lazy, dime-store synth melody that makes you think of a gritty Midwestern town, and lyrics that sound like Mac's about to either spill his darkest secrets or get into some kind of bar fight with a stranger.

It's darker and more entropic than the ambling, faintly hopeful guitar part would suggest, which makes it satisfying in the same way drunk pizza is, especially when the layered, minor-toned synths weave their way in there.

Salad Days comes out April 1st, 2014.
