All we could think through the three-and-a-half minutes was whether or not this should make us feel uncomfortable. But it doesn’t. It doesn’t because PPL MVR is onto something.

By god, what in the sweetened heck is wrong with people these days? We just watched grown men dressed as Yeti-like space creatures play instruments with severed hooves of presumably innocent four-legged animals. The world has gone absolutely insane at this point.

What’s worse is that we like it! We enjoy this video like creeps … substandard creeps! So too should everybody else, however, because it’s surprisingly great music. The video and the band’s concept on the other hand is making our head spin on a crooked axis just a little.

All we could think through the three-and-a-half minutes was whether or not this should make us feel uncomfortable. But it doesn’t. It doesn’t because PPL MVR is onto something.

What that something is will probably be up for continued debate, because right now there isn’t much to go by with this band. Yesterday NPR held a “First Watch” of the new video from PPL MVR titled “People Mover,” and that’s about all we’ve gotten out of the info-sphere.

Here’s what the world knows so far:

  • PPL MVR play some shows in Los Angeles every now and again.
  • Nobody knows who or what they technically are.
  • The white one goes by the name SNWBLL, the black one is K-PO, and the brown one is Q.
  • PPL MVR also have a human handler who goes by the name of Dave Pino.
  • Dave Pino recently had this to say about the band:

There is an ancient power in coming together to stand in a sacred place and chant, sing songs, pump our fists in the air, and venerate. The one and only PPL MVR taps into that simple truth: throw your head back and yelp as loud as you can — it feels good.

We agree. Do what feels good. PPL MRV right now feels good. It just feels right …
