Visual artist Sophia Wallace made a giant, gold clit that you can ride around like a cowboy at high noon. The installation is aptly titled "Clit Rodeo," and it's part of Sophia's campaign for "cliteracy," or the ability to navigate the clitoris based on the understanding that it's the fundamental female sexual organ.

The giant phallice ride is anatomically correct; most of the clitoris is internal and is composed of erectile tissue similar to the penis. According to sex blogger Ms. M, the internal portion of the clitoris contains two corpora cavernosa that wrap around the vagina when erect, and two crura, which branch out from the clitoral body. It's pretty massive, guys and gals. Yet, people only started studying the clit's anatomy fifteen years ago in 1998. In fact, the lack of scientific and cultural attention paid to the clitoris is what inspired Sophia to make a huge, gold one that you can sit on. She explained her motivation to Creem magazine,

It is a curious dilemma to observe the paradox that on the one hand the female body is the primary metaphor for sexuality, its use saturates advertising, art and the mainstream erotic imaginary. Yet, the clitoris, the true female sexual organ, is virtually invisible.

Clit Rodeo debuted in New York in early August, triggering a huge public response. It's even gone viral on Tumblr.

[It was] an invitation for audiences to experience a space free from traditional shame, taboo and silence usually cloaking conversations around sexuality, particularly female genitals,

said Wallace, who intends on bringing the Clit Rodeo to other parts of the U.S.

Watch this…in the video, Sophia  explains what she means by 'cliteracy,' and what led her to create the humongous clitoris.

But, Clit Rodeo was hardly Sophia's only effort to advocate cliteracy. She also made 100 "Laws of Cliteracy," street art, and cliteracy gear. Feast your eyes on this:
