As the end of summer comes breathing down our necks, the local musicians are holding onto the magical feeling of the season as much as they can. This week in the local sphere, we came across an EDM-hybrid, traditional hip-hop and a reflective summer smash. Cling on, good people of the summer, to the best feeling in the year for a few more quickly dwindling weeks.

Decadon & Splyt – "On"

When two artists of separate genres clash, the outcome can be strikingly beautiful. Such is the case when two of our state’s fastest rising stars released their EDM and hip hop blending track “On.” Decadon as a unit has been having a great year -— he performed at Red Rocks for Global Dance Festival and is rumored to have a spot on Savoy’s upcoming tour. And Splyt, the hip hop mastermind behind “On,” is still preparing to release his next album “The S Project”. Together, these two create a blood pumping song that delivers for both hip-hop and EDM fans alike.

Trav Marquee – "Duality"

Trav Marquee actually released this project in late May, but why not push a past favorite when we feel like it never got the recognition it deserved. In running through "Duality," Trav is passionate throughout the tape — an ingredient that seems all too rare in today’s world. Clearly, Trav Marquee is one of the most talented artists from Denver, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from him.

G-Slick – "Down B!tch ft. Andre Fabre & Kid Vegas"

The Soundcloud description for “Down B!tch” describes it as a “smash summer hit” — and that’s a statement we'll co-sign any day. The PG-13 title gives you some reference for where to play the song, away from your square-ass boss and loudly eonugh at home the neighbors get a whiff. Solid verses compliment the ear-worming hook — rounding out the impressive local collaboration. “Down B!tch” is sure to inspire those who hear it to party just a little bit longer in hopes of a lucky night.
