“A sour Turner is a boring Turner,” he says, “and nobody likes that …”

Turner Jackson wants to party, and he’d like for you to join him. In his newest release, “Red Plastic Cup,” he eases away from a serious offering to bring fans a classic tale of having liquored-up fun with some of the best besties. The greatest kind of fun indeed …

“For those that are familiar with my previous music, it might be a little less introspective,” says vocalist/emcee Turner Jackson of his new release. “That’s exactly what I was going for. There's a time and place for serious soul searching raps. Now is not the time and here isn't the place.”

As a coming of age tale, Jackson’s new tune is set around the “boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, but then boy finds a new girl,” inspiration. It’s a story he says is taken from true events of a recent period in time, more specifically the summer of 2014, when things for him were so hype he wanted to document them in his music. Nothing serious, just good vibes and a new artistic direction — which is important to Jackson.
