The video for "Dope Boy" is to the point and exactly the type of thing we're to expect out of hip-hop in this town.

Anyone can be anything they want to in the game of online fronting with a semi-silver tongue. But Kid Vegas knows that shit’s not real and spends his 2 minutes on “Dope Boy” calling out the phony runners. Because if you’re getting high on your own supply, you’re not a dope boy at all, “you’re a base head.” That’s just a rule of life.

While basic in its delivery (a fly ride, dancing beauty and Denver as a backdrop), the video does what its supposed to do — that is — provide a visual component to an otherwise great song. It's short, it's to the point and exactly the type of thing we're to expect out of hip-hop in this town.

Do not sleep on hip-hop in this town, we're telling you, we keep telling you, do the right thing and make hip-hop bigger in Denver.

To recap: What did we learn today? Don’t come phony around Kid Vegas, he’ll make a song about you … and go support local hip-hop artists. Kanye and JayZ will be fine if you don't give them more money, trust us.
