To gear up for his "American Fairytale" release on Feb 22, local emcee Pries has released a new video for "Yeezus Chain" — an addictive track off of the forthcoming album. Contrary to what the title might lead anyone to believe, the song isn’t one long fawning ode to Mr. West, rather, Pries spends the time running through feelings of his own recent successes.

He’s not Hov, Drake, or Yeezus, but he’s clearly ready for that kind of spotlight.

If you haven’t heard any other of Pries’ tracks, such as “Shake,” consider yourself late to the game. The song went viral on Spotify thanks to a couple-million views on a popular twerking video. The virality of it — along with a song of his being played during VH1's "Black Ink Crew" — has given Pries’ unmatched momentum. The shout outs are all powerful building blocks for Pries as he continues to impress with quality, dynamic releases.

“American Fairytale” will presumably be another one of those blocks, and getting that collection when it’s out is on our short list.
