This past Tuesday, Rose Quartz released the “Axis of Love EP” — a three-track journey into the act’s goal of creating enjoyable music while attempting to break out of the local industry cafeteria.

Rose Quartz is a local band. And it’s a local band that won’t be local for much longer.

After quitting each of their respective previous endeavors (Flash/Lights and Mancub), Alex Anderson and Ethan Converse paired their multi-genre inspirational forces to form Rose Quartz, an electro-pop outfit that wavers between digestible dance to intriguing experimental tracks. This past Tuesday, they released the "Axis of Love EP” — a three-track journey into the act’s goal of creating enjoyable music while attempting to break out of the local industry cafeteria.

It’s a palpable voyage, too, because the band was named a Red Bull Sound Select Artist in 2014, which saw the duo placed on opening slots for national acts such as Cut Copy, St. Lucia, MSMR and more.

With the new EP out, the act will take its performance on the road for a short west coast jaunt around major cities in the coming months.

Listen here, listen now, and prepare yourself for the “I knew them then” quips for when the gates open to the band’s successes in 2015.
