We are proud as pie to give our readers the exclusive premiere of the first single "M.O.B." off of the new album, “R.I.C.O” — due out in spring 2015.

The last time we spoke with innate emcee JT he was releasing a stand-out solo effort titled “1994” while furthering the legitimacy of the brand the young creatives in the Planes! collective have built over the past year. Today, we are proud as pie to give our readers the exclusive premiere of the first single off of the new album, “R.I.C.O,” due out in spring 2015.

“M.O.B” is what we’ve come to love about Planes!. A combative beat couples perfectly with rappers JT, A-Trax, and Lennex Dublyn, who fill verses with ad-libs and inventive rhymes. The song punches forward quickly with an anthemic, chanting chorus and all artists feed off of each other throughout. JT is presumably the most polished, but A-Trax and Lennex Dublyn bring flare and charisma with solid lyrics.

The video — shot and edited by folks in the collective themselves — showcases everyone involved going insane with passion through painted Denver alleyways and keeps the video on track with the song’s high energy.

The title of its album, “R.I.C.O.” relates to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act of 1970, a federal law that was passed to combat organized crime in the United States.

“It was a fun album to make,” says A-Trax about the album. “We turned up and just did what we do. A lot of people claim this and that, but one thing I know is we just remained to ourselves and made the music we love to make. It's about the love for the music and we love doing what we do.”

Make sure you stay on the look out for the Planes! album coming this spring so the collective can help you turn up and burn up.
