Arvada. Of course this happened in Arvada …

There are a few rules most kids were probably forced to adhere to by their parents growing up: Be home when that street light goes on, or you'll be sorry. If you knock over any of mom's bullshit trinkets that are barely secured on a flimsy shelf, you're in big trouble. And … don't, absolutely under any circumstances, fuck with mailboxes — you will go to prison for a very long time.

Mail was serious business in the '80s.

Nobody explained the third rule to Arvada, CO's John Bowman, however. He's a 45-year-old man accused of using a pipe bomb to explode a mailbox on 58th Avenue and Ralston Road. All to impress his lady friend.

"She wanted to hear a 'loud boom,'" the criminal complaint — obtained by the Denver Post — says he told authorities when questioned.

If Bowman goes down for the crime, he's facing up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. This was also the fed's property, so he's facing federal charges. *smh*

As with anything done in say, oh maybe the past 10 years or so, Bowman's actions were all captured on camera. It wasn't very hard to authorities to identify who'd done the vandalism and make an arrest.

Ladies may like a bad boy from time to time, but blowing shit up in public when you know damn well it's probably being recorded isn't the brightest idea. No amount of action is worth any time in the clink.
