David Bowie, man. That dude is not sucking lately. Despite being 67 years old, reinventing himself every five seconds, and dabbling in every music technique and style that ever was, he's still putting out new, refreshing music. Case and point? His new song, "'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore," in which he gets super salty and butt-hurt about getting punched and robbed by a hooker. Listen to it, and tell us if you agree or if you think he's past his prime.

The concept of the song, which Bowie says "acknowledges the shocking rawness of the First World War," matches nicely with the sonics. A swirling, dizzying collage of chaotic drums and piano and distorted vocals give the impression that there's some sort of assualt occuring (which the lyrics back up nicely).

We have to say, we kind of like his foray into distorted, dark electro-pop. His collaboration with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy on "Love is Lost" is a good example of the direction he's taking; gritty, boner-evoking way for him to say "I can do whatever the fuck I want because I'm David Bowie."

"'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore"is Bowie's second new song since the release of last album The Next Day. His Nothing Has Changed compilation, which surveys 50 years of Bowie, is out November 17.

Okay. Enough yammering. Here's the song.
