This morning a video was released from Upon A Burning Body of a track featured on the newest volume of the "Punk Goes Pop" series. The San Antonio hardcore outfit took on Lil John’s “Turn Down For What” and transformed it into a body-slamming anthem of hardcore turnt-upness. Our good friend Ice-T even makes a cameo to lend a thought-provoking verse, which includes powerful prose.

In its newest volume of Punk Goes Pop, Fearless Records employs some of the better known names in the hardcore arena to cover songs so overplayed a rendition is almost necessary. Hearing the original version of most every track listed one more time was going to push us over the edge. It’s just pop music doing what pop music does.

This morning a video was released from Upon A Burning Body of a track featured on the album. The San Antonio hardcore outfit took on Lil John’s “Turn Down For What” and transformed it into a body-slamming anthem of hardcore turnt-upness.

Our good friend Ice-T even makes a cameo to lend a thought-provoking verse, which includes the powerful prose:

“Drunk in the club / Liquor in my cup / You can see I don’t give a fuck / Turn down for what!”

It’s poetry, truly.

Side note: When holding any type of camera that’s recording live action, it’s best to hold the fucking thing still. We’re not sure where this herky-jerky style of convulsive filmmaking is coming from, but it hurts our head. Stop, it’s not artistic and it’s not creative. Unless sending jolts of motion sickness out to viewers is the intention, then hold the camera still. Honestly … do we have to think of everything around here?
