Picture the shittiest day you've ever had at work. Maybe your boss yelled at you, your $7 Starbucks spilled all over the car, or that one asshole customer chose your line again for the seventeenth time to berate you about facial piercings. Whatever it was, it couldn't possibly have been as bad as one man's heroic journey from inside the depths of an ATM.

Recently, a man fixing a particular cash machine in Corpus Christi, Texas, accidentally got locked inside of a hidden room which connects an ATM to the bank — and get this … without his phone dun dun duuuun!

He then had to use an old school way of getting in touch with people; he wrote a "help me" note and shoved it through the cracks of the machine to customers until one of them actually took it seriously.

“He left his phone in his truck, he’s installing a new lock on the door, and he gets locked inside the building where the ATM is,” Officer Richard Olden of Corpus Christi Police told KRISTV.

It took a while for people to take the notes seriously, but eventually someone did and the proper authorities were called.

“We come out here, and sure enough we can hear a little voice coming from the machine,” Olden adds. “So we are thinking this is a joke. It’s got to be a joke.”

The dude was rescued, unharmed — except for the consistent thrashing from his co-workers he'll have to endure for the next 40 or so years until retirement of course.

"Ol' Stucky Pants" is what they'll call him, or whatever …

Said Olden: “Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just crazy,”
