"Squeeze Me" is the first recorded single from N.E.R.D. in more than 4 years and is featured on "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" soundtrack — a movie sure to garner accolades, awards, trophies and lauded distinctions after its Feb 6 release.

This morning when we half-assedly woke up after a long holiday break and drove into work during a double long commute because of the heavy snowfall, of course the only thing on our minds was tropical jams.

We thought, “You know what, that N.E.R.D. troupe hasn’t done anything much recently. Why don’t they do a single for, say, Spongebob – because that’s exactly what we need right now.”

And wouldn’t you know it, the heavens have done spoke, because it’s here. Pharrell “The media always talks about my hat” Williams and his partners in N.E.R.D., Chad Hugo and Shay Haley, have reunited once again to bring us “Squeeze Me,” an aptly titled tropical tune fit for Spongebob royalty.

Hugo, also Pharrell’s long-time production partner in The Neptunes, told Variety recently, “We’re trying not to think too much in a cartoon sense,” about the track, “but more just like a psychedelic, otherworldy type of thing. If you want to draw a parallel, maybe think of what the Beatles did with ‘Yellow Submarine.’”

That’s it, office Mai Tais for everyone today. We’re sick of nog.
