If you weren't an artist, what would you be doing?

Laying in a coffin.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the unknown. I love learning and seeing things I haven't experienced before. There's so many passions out there and the people behind them can be so influential. I definitely thrive in an environment around other motivated artists.

How do you stay creative?

By going out and seeing shows of all sorts. I have a membership to the Denver Art Museum and love making the rounds on First Friday. I've also started to produce my own shows and events to stay fresh.

When people ask about your art, how do you describe it?

I find myself emotionally fixated on the doodles that filled the margins of my eighth grade notebooks which provided escapism from the emotional turmoil in my adolescence. Now free from middle school, but still trapped by my emotions, I continue to process and evolved as a person. My art still serving as means for me to cope and process.

Where can people find more of your work?

I update my Instagram (@cccccurtis) almost daily and I also have a website/blog that gets updated regularly: cccccurtis.com
