Rowan // Bones

Sometimes we just gotta cry. It’s a therapeutic release that’s healthier than over-boozing and easy enough to maneuver around in the comfort of our own lifeless accommodations. Produced and recorded at the acclaimed Mammoth Cave Studios in Denver, “Bones” is a peaceful and harmonic delivery from Colorado singer/songwriter Rowan Schoales. We’re lucky for it too, because or digital copies of Adele’s “21” were somehow getting worn out from overuse.

Analog Son // Analog Son

Fans of the party rock inspired jam band Kinetix are going to be delightfully intoxicated by the new side project from long time members Jordan Linit and Josh Fairman. Part funky instrumental cruise, part melodic mastery of psychedelia, the self-titled work is a first for the group and is a bouncy ride of an album that forces all extremities into action. We envision many a sundress being spun around in unison to this one.

NATIONAL

Rise Against // The Black Market

We just. Can’t. Even. With this album. It’s like Tim McIlrath and company can do no wrong and we’re their merry little maids awaiting Rise Against’s every beck and call. There’s not much different in this album than from others past but a bit more lyrical introspection. That dynamic, however, is a tireless endeavor. We’re not gonna diddle with supremacy, so why should Rise Against?

Amp Live // Headphone Concerto

What the bejesus did we just listen to? Most known for his work as one part of the hip-hop group Zion I, producer Amp Live has released a work of experimental genius. Purposefully worked to be listened to in three parts like a classical concerto “Headphone Concerto” employs the talents of music royalties Prof, Eric Rachmany (Rebelution) and Don from Big Gigantic. Together they’ve all managed to organize sensory wizardry.
