Who does "Earned It" better: CJ Holland or The Weeknd?

We can’t say we’ll ever bother with seeing the movies — or reading the books — but the soundtrack to Fifty Shades of Grey is one of the baby-makingest albums out right now. From Annie Lennox to Sia, Ellie Goulding to AWOLNATION; the album has a handful of our favorite artists and really puts the spice back into our dinner we never knew needed any spicing.

It also has The Weeknd’s “Earned It” — a rich and soulful R&B hit that still holds a prolific spot in our shuffle game. We figured something as deep as “Earned It” would be untouchable, but then we got an email the other day about CJ Holland, an up and coming indie/R&B powerhouse from Smyrna, TN (it’s a real city, we checked). He’s worked with everyone from Pharrell to Ne-Yo to Quincy Jones and back. He recently covered "Earned It" and the result is on point.

He’s fire, and his rendition of “Earned It” is damn near as good as the original — no easy feat. Set peepers to ‘follow’ on this dude …

And just for fun: Here's a cover CJ Holland just released of ILoveMakonneneneneon's "Tuesday":
