The reason why we can't f*ck up any commas …

Sunday, Feb 14
Spells
w/ Dirty Few, Rootbeer and Mermentau & PXLMAN

Larimer Lounge

Comedian and Spells’ frontman Ben Roy is probably one of the busiest men in show business. From his new home in Los Angeles, Roy films a TruTV series called “Those Who Can’t” (premiering soon) with his partners in the Grawlix comedy trio. Somehow, he manages to find time to swing back to the Mile High and perform with his energetic punk outfit — the best-dressed local troupe in history, bar none. Watching the set, however, it shows that Roy and company do it all for the likes. It’s V-Day date-night with the dudes (and lady).

Friday, Feb 12 – Sunday, Feb 14
Ween
w/ special guests

1st Bank Center

There are few acts that can visit a large city and completely dominate ticket sales at one of its largest venues. The three-night lineup of Pennsylvanian-bred Ween sold out with a quickness. We’re crossing our fingers for them to play “Waving My Dick In The Wind” — a timeless American classic.

Saturday, Feb 13
Dr. Dog
w/ Hop Along

Boulder Theatre

Seeing as how Dr. Dog’s new album The Psychedelic Swamp won’t be released until Feb 15, it’s likely the band will have a few physical copies floating around tonight for you to snag and beat the herd. It’s an official release of stuff the psych-rock group created 15 years ago. Talk about trippy.

Sunday, Feb 14
Erykah Badu
w/ special guests

Ogden Theatre

Whether it’s photo-bombing journalists on live television or starting shit with Iggy Azalea on Twitter, Badu has kept her name at least semi-prominent in headlines lately. Nothing overshadows her past contribution to music, however. This Denver date is rare. Spend your Valentine’s Day with a legend!

Sunday, Feb 14
Naughty by Nature
w/ High Five and SUR ELLZ

Marquis Theatre

If you had told us 20 years ago we’d eventually witness one of the greatest hip-hop groups to ever make a dent in the culture at a couple-hundred-or-so capacity venue in the future, we’d have called you insane. We’re down with “OPP,” and we’re proud of it.

Friday, Feb 19
Rooster Magazine presents:
Chrome Drones w/ Falcon Punch

Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox

Last month, Chrome Drones began its three-month residency at the newly raised Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox — a venue/restaurant/bar hybrid with suds made of heaven. The live disco-house project from members of Signal Path, Tiger Party and Particle rip the roof entirely off its beams. It’s that turned.

Saturday Feb 20 – Sunday Feb 21
Logic
w/ Dizzy Wright

Ogden Theatre

There’s an exhilarating difference between regular artists and those with a natural ability to perfect their purpose. Hip-hop emcee Logic has said that when he wanted to be a rapper, he stayed in and did nothing else except hone his craft. It shows. This dude is going to be a monster.

Thursday, Feb 25
STRFKR
w/ Com Truise

Boulder Theatre

Oddly enough, the synth-heavy rock act STRFKR once changed its name to Pyramiddd under the prudish guidance of an agent. Hmm, sounds like a dumbass. Thankfully, he was canned and the members came back to their senses. It’s the best name in the biz. Say it with us now: “STARFUCKER!”

Monday, Feb 29
Alison Wonderland
w/ Golden Features, iowno

Bluebird Theater

No artist occupied more space on our Spotify playlists last year than Alison Wonderland. Small in stature but massive in sound, the Aussie-born future bass and trap deck-dominatrix brings infectious sets to every performance. We’re not sure what kind of talent-boosting chemicals are in the water down-under, but we want.

Saturday, Mar 5
Carly Rae Jepsen
w/ special guests

Gothic Theatre

It’s a real curse, having to come out of the blocks as a newcomer only to blow up into international superstardom because of an electric pop single that’s everywhere. “Call Me Maybe” isn’t all the singer/songwriter is good for, so don’t be that asshole screaming for it the entire set.
