Why, why would the purple one keep this gem away from the masses!?

Here we are, more than 7 years after the fact, and we're finally allowed to watch full video clips of Prince's storied cover of Radiohead's mega-hit "Creep" at Coachella of 2008 — long kept under wraps by him and his legal team. Soon after the performance, when fans' uploads began appearing, Prince's people spent hours delivering countless takedown requests to video owners, claiming copyright violations. When Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke caught wind of the practice, he earnestly made the comment to one interviewer: "He's blocked it? Hang on a moment. Well, tell him to unblock it. It's our … song."

The clip isn't anything special visually (this was 7 years ago remember), but the audio is enough to keep yourself busy for a good chunk of time while listening to one of the greats cover another one of the greats. This is exactly the type of thing Coachella is good at, and while it might seem like Prince was just protecting his performance from being spread like wildfire online, as he normally does, it does make sense to open it up to the Internet for the rest of the world to enjoy. Especially since it's Radiohead's song, a band notorious for supporting the free music movement and giving fans many things, asking for no monetary compensation unless you feel like it.
