"Iceland always seemed like one of the last 'untouched' places on earth … "

"Iceland has been on my list (to shoot) for the better part of the last decade," says Charles Newmyer. "I’m sure a handful of readers have now been to Iceland, or are planning to go in the near future, and I wonder if their reasoning is the same as mine. Iceland always seemed like one of the last 'untouched' places on Earth, one of the last wild and untamed landscapes. It doesn’t take a great effort to find yourself in an environment where you feel like your feet are the first feet to step on the volcanic ground. From experiencing the midnight sun, to watching icebergs come to life as they capsize, every moment took my breath away, and I can't say enough good things about that place. I’ll be going back, and I urge any reader even thinking about visiting to do so, too."
