Ahh, July 4th. For most people, the holiday represents American independence, hot dogs, barbecues, pool parties, and fireworks. Of course, these traditions still ring true, but for Denver, July 4th has also become synonymous with, Zeds Dead.

The legendary Canadian duo has been hosting their annual Deadrocks event around July 4th since 2014, with each year growing exponentially. That year also marked the release of their Somewhere Else EP, with a supporting lineup that included Dada Life, Joey Bada$$, and Manic Focus.

In 2018, the duo expanded DeadRocks into a two-day event, beginning with DeadRocks V. Some standout supporting acts that year included G Jones, Rusko, Eprom, Ekali, and Habstrakt.

2021 marked yet another milestone for the producers as they not only announced Deadrocks VII but also introduced their first-ever Backyard Jamboree. The Jamboree added a third day to the festivities, taking over Denver’s Sculpture Park on July 4th. The event quickly became a fan favorite and ultimately solidified the producers’ reign over July 4th in Denver.

In 2022, DeadRocks VIII took place as expected, but this time the Backyard Jamboree moved to a new coveted location: Denver’s Civic Center Park. This year also marked a shift from just another day of music to a full-blown daytime extravaganza, featuring lawn games, a dunk tank, and a hot dog eating contest.

Now, in 2024, things are bigger than ever. The sold-out, two-night DeadRocks X is fast approaching on July 2 and 3. Furthermore, the 4th Annual Backyard Jamboree is back, this year featuring three stages of music, games, and activities. The July 4th festivity will showcase some star-studded talent, including Caspa, Levity, Justin Jay, Bou, Downlink, Suray Sertin, and many more. And to cap things off, the duo are bringing back their coveted DeadRocks Hangover to Mission Ballroom for two epic finale sets.

There’s no question that Zeds Dead has made Denver their home during the July 4th holiday each year, and now it’s hard to imagine the occasion without them. While tickets for DeadRocks X have long been sold out, tickets for their Backyard Jamboree and DeadRocks Hangover are still available.

“We are immensely proud to mark the 10th anniversary of Deadrocks at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This milestone symbolizes the deep connection between Zeds Dead, our fans, and the vibrant city of Denver. This year’s events, from the high-energy performances at Red Rocks to the lively Backyard Jamboree and the Deadrocks Hangover at Mission Ballroom, highlight the remarkable growth of Zeds Dead and the community we’ve nurtured together. Denver has always played a pivotal role in our journey, and we are excited to continue delivering unforgettable experiences for our loyal fans.” — Deadbeats
