This morning in the wee-hours of our mountain’s time zone, the frenetic front-woman of Crystal Castles, Alice Glass, spoke to the Twitterverse in a series of posts about leaving the band.

Short, sweet and pseudo-silent: Why can’t all break-ups be like this?

This morning in the wee-hours of our mountain’s time zone, the frenetic front-woman of Crystal Castles, Alice Glass, spoke to the Twitterverse in a series of posts about leaving the band. In them she said:

“I am leaving Crystal Castles.“

“My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others.“

“For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.”

“Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.”

That’s it. There’s really not much else to it, as the band has yet to make any “official” statements via its social media sites.

Cut the shit, get to the point, we like it and wish both vocalist Alice Glass and producer Ethan Kath well in the future. If the solo work by Glass is anything like Crystal Castles, we’re immediate fans and will be the first to buy the t-shirt … and then probably lose it, because we always lose stuff. Every. Damn. Time.
