Bloody Mary

What medium(s) do you prefer to work in?
Spray-paint and acrylic. I rather work on big surfaces in the street, but I also enjoy working on a smaller scale in the studio.

How did art become such a large part of your life?
I don’t remember. Just happened because I’ve been drawing since I was a child; to create is the only thing I know to do, and I love to do it.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Dedicate yourself to paint and forget your bad ways in the streets,” said judge Garzón to me 15 years ago …

Where do you think the future of art is going?
Art has no limits and the future is unexplored. That’s why I can’t stop trying to find new ways with my art.

What type of music do you normally listening to when you’re working? Any specific artists?
All kind of music, but mostly electronic. It depends of the moment. I like techno, electro pop, indie, flamenco, bossa nova … artists like Grimes, Prayers, Leiras, Pearl, Whased Out, Pablo Bolivar, Nicola Cruz, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Planningtorock, Casa del Mirlo, Kisses, Com Truise, Van She, MIA, Austra, Rosalia, Meneo …

At your lowest point, did you ever want to quit?
Never, because I need to create in order to be happy and to feel good.

Who is your biggest inspiration in life?
My friends, parties, music, the sea, food, Madrid, nightlife — but the biggest inspiration comes during my journeys.

Alive or dead: who are some artists you’d love to collaborate with?
The Bosch, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Yayoi Kusama, Magrite, Amandyne Urruti, Murakami, Jodorowsky.

Favorite Disney character and why?
None! But I like to use Mickey Mouse as an icon of capitalism and the U.S.A.

On a Friday/Saturday night, you’re usually doing what?
Party time! I have a lot of friends who are DJs, producers and/or singers.
