The guy gives no fucks, and couldn't be more of an inspiration to everyone because of it.
Right now, renowned TV personality, chef, author and all around badass, Anthony Bourdain, is in the midst of a North American tour promoting his new book. Titled The Hunger, his speaking event spins through myriad topics including his current whereabouts, what the hell his book is all about and how he landed such an incredible career.
A few nights ago in Boston, Bourdain unloaded on just that:
"Fuck up. Drop out of college. Don’t concentrate. Do a lot of cocaine and heroin."
He's probably not kidding about that response, either, considering in a previous Men's Journal interview, Bourdain opened up about a life past — one that had him struggling in a New York City underbelly trying to get ahead.
"I was a long-time drug addict, and one of the things drug addiction did, especially when you have to score cocaine or heroin every day on the streets of New York — you learn a lot of skills that are useful when dealing with Hollywood or the business world," he said. "In a world full of bullshit, when you need something as badly as drugs, your bullshit detector gets pretty acute."
