So it would appear everyone is still on this Drake kick? Have we figured out why, yet?

So it would appear everyone is still on this Drake kick? Have we figured out why, yet?

What was originally supposed to drop tomorrow, May 5, the Austin City Limits festival lineup apparently “leaked” over the weekend — and was subsequently withdrawn — with screen shots of both October events being flung around social spheres like free drink koozies at a fitness convention (right, like we’d know — we’ve never fitnessed anything).

Headliners for both weekends appear, at least right now unofficially, to be the Foo Fighters (what one hilarious online commenter describes as: “Oooh! Foo Fighters! How marvelous. Get a nice big dollop of mayonnaise on your white bread sandwich."), Drake (again, why?) and The Strokes (love it).

Colorado is also marginally represented with our last month’s cover-homie GRiZ grabbing appearance honors along with In The Whale — by far one of our favorite local rock duos — landing a mention on Weekend 1. In The Whale also makes its way out to Chicago in July for a spot on the Lollapalooza festival.

Can we let everyone in on a trade secret, though? Between the lot of us: There’s rarely such a thing as a real “leak” anymore in the world of mass media. Sure, there’s probably an intern somewhere sometimes that screws the pooch and lets stuff slip through his or her loose wifi connection — but the verbiage is also a great marketing trick to get people talking. What better way to make something clickable than to call it "secretive information" nobody is supposed to have yet?

Take the word “leak” with a grain of salt, is all we’re saying. The Internet doth cry wolf too much!
