Do you like the gothy music style? No I’m a fucking Basshead!
What’s your type? I want a girl that I can take anywhere. I’m kind of a chameleon and I want my girl to be kind of like that.

THE LOCATION
Tap Fourteen Uptown
400 E 19th Ave, Denver, Colo. 80203
Upon arrival, Andrew quickly proves he’s a man who knows what he wants: a White Claw. “Is that a bad question?” he asks the server. No, of course not, however Tap Fourteen only features local craft breweries. No Claws tonight. It doesn’t seem to bother Aleece or Andrew though, as the two move quickly into first date formalities.
Describe your dating life in three words:
Aleece: You can’t make this shit up. You. Just. Can’t.
Andrew: Almost really good.
Where do you usually meet potential dates?
Aleece: The public. The light rail, concerts. I actually dated a guy that I got into a road rage incident with on I-25. We were both like ‘FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU!!’ and he rolled up and said ‘actually you’re kind of cute’ and asked for my number — we dated for six months.
Andrew: Based on the person I change it up. I go for more experiences rather than places.
What’s your go-to pickup strategy?
Aleece: My dog. He’s a husky malamute mix with big blue eyes.
Andrew: I’m very vibe based. It’s all about the feeling and connection.
What are you looking for with a partner?
Aleece: Someone I can count on. There’s a lot of other stuff but that’s the main thing.
Andrew: Someone I can take anywhere. Someone who helps me live my best life.
What does your ideal date look like?
Aleece: Comedy show. I love comedy. You get to see what kind of sense of humor he has. I went on a date to see Steve-O and the date didn’t laugh at all. I was like ‘what the fuck?’
Andrew: All depends on who the person is and what the vibe is. One of the best dates was a meteor shower; we ended up dancing to Frank Sinatra and drinking champagne.
How are the first impressions?
Aleece: Really good! He’s sweet. Really easy to talk to. Good sense of humor. We have a lot in common.
Andrew: She’s super cute and fun. I’d probably say seems like a super good girl. Seems a little innocent. Seems like she has her shit together for the most part.
Are you attracted to your date?
Aleece: Yes?
Andrew: I think she’s cute.
When you saw your date, what was the first thing that went through your mind?
Aleece: Really sweet because he just went in for a hug right away. Those are my kind of people.
Andrew: That you guys hooked it up! I wasn’t expecting her to be this good.

Good conversation, strong drinks and Andrew is wearing his lucky shirt; things are off to a splendid start. During dinner, the two seem to be getting along well, downing heaping plates of shrimp tacos, a burger with an egg on top — lamb for Andrew — and appetizers for days. The perfect date? We check in to see how things are going.
How’s it going overall?
Aleece: It’s good. It’s a good night. I’m having a great time.
Andrew: Overall pretty good. I think I’m a bigger drinker than her, so I don’t know if she’s someone that can keep up. I had to take both of our tequila shots.
What are you two talking about?
Aleece: Right now, were talking about HGTV. I love HGTV. It’s like my favorite channel!
Andrew: We’re talking about pets; we’re talking about HGTV. Talking about food and how she’s not a drinker.
On a scale of 0-5 how is the chemistry?
Aleece: Chemistry is like a 4.
Andrew: I’d probably say a 3.5. I think I’m a little too wild for her.
Do you have any major similarities or differences?
Aleece: The only difference is he’s a cat guy and I’m allergic as fuck to them.
Andrew: I think we like the same food and I think we’re both outgoing and she’s very bubbly, but I think when there’s chemistry there you know …
How was dinner? What did you get?
Aleece: I got a burger and it was freaking delicious and I can’t wait to finish it. It was so good. It’s my thing. Just a big juicy burger, ya know?
Andrew: I ordered a lamb burger. I loved it. I got mac and cheese too since she got fries. We were going to share, but I ate all the mac and cheese before she could try it. I forgot she wanted to try it until I ate it all.

Good food, solid vibes, Andrew being the gentleman he is and taking both tequila shots — not sure the night could have gone any better. After cleaning house on dinner, we leave the blossoming lovers to themselves for whatever. With no dogs and no cats to go home to … we go home alone. The next day, the two let us know how the rest of the night went down.
What happened after Rooster left?
Aleece: We stayed for a while longer to finish our drinks and catch up and then walked outside to wait for our Ubers. His ride was there right away, and I waited about a half hour for mine (since I had two drivers cancel on me!).
Andrew: We finished our drinks and talked for a bit.
Did Rooster find a match?
Aleece: Did they?! I suppose that question is subjective. Stay tuned.
Andrew: No. She we attractive but personality wise, it was not a match.
Was there a goodbye kiss?
Aleece: No. However, there was a big hug! He tried to be polite and give me his business card (LOL) but I just asked for his number.
Andrew: No. Had enough drinks where I almost went for it but felt like we were friends.
How about a second date?
Aleece: Perhaps.
Andrew: No, thought about it but we’re too different.
Overall, how was it?
Aleece: I had a great, spontaneous evening! Both the food and the company were fantastic … it’s exciting to cross blind dating off my bucket list.
Andrew: I had a great time. She was fun to talk to but she’s too chill for me.
Do you have any advice for future Blind Daters?
Aleece: Be open to it! So many interesting people in the world.
Andrew: Just have fun and come in with an open mind.
Do you have any regrets from last night?
Aleece: Nope, none!
Andrew: None at all.
What’s next in your dating life?
Aleece: Hopefully a hot air balloon ride date. *wink*
Andrew: Might go back to apps or take a break and see if something happens naturally.
Is there anything you want to end with?
Aleece: I would like to nominate my friends, Andrea Sweeney (flight attendant) and Kyley Burress (lobbyist)!
Andrew: I highly recommend doing this. It was a great experience, super fun and happy I did it. It went better than I thought it would! If Aleece and I had something it would of been a great way to meet ‘the one!’

CONCLUSION
Well, well, well. So it looks like it wasn’t all fireworks and frenching within the first few hours, but both Andrew and Aleece seem to at least be open to the idea of hanging out more. And we all know what can happen when that happens. (BIG NUDGE!) For us, it’s a win, because Tap Fourteen provided a magnificent atmosphere, and two people had the time of their lives. Until next time, you old dogs.
